When is IMAX Theatre available for rentals?

Rentals are available every day of the week, however Saturday afternoons (1:00pm - 4:00pm) and Saturday evenings (7:00pm - 10:00pm) are reserved for public screenings. Since the primary business function of IMAX Theatre is showing IMAX films to the public, certain dates and times may not be available. 

How do I reserve IMAX Theatre for rental?

For scheduling and film contract purposes, reservations must be accompanied by a 25% down-payment (including a $100 non-refundable deposit).

What is your capacity for events?

Depending on the type of event, IMAX Theatre can accommodate up to 276 guests. For a complete breakdown, please visit facility specifications.

Can we include an IMAX film in our event?

Yes - IMAX Theatre has over 20 titles to choose from for an additional fee. Our sales team will offer assistance in helping find the best film available for your event. For our most current library click here. Depending on the public schedule at the time, some clients choose to include a public show in addition to their rental. Is there free parking for my event guests?

YES! IMAX Theatre is pleased to provide FREE heated indoor parking in the Portage Place Parkade - managed by FNP Parking - subject to availability. Guests should be instructed to take a ticket upon entering the parkade. IMAX Theatre will provide your guests with a parking validation ticket at the event.

What is included in my rental?

Many elements free of charge are included in your rental package price. Please click this link for equipment and services included in all rentals.

Does IMAX Theatre allow outside catering?

Outside caterers are permitted when discussed at time of booking. IMAX Theatre reserves the right to provide non-alcoholic beverage service (coffee, tea, juice, water, soft drinks). Also, confectionaries sold at the IMAX Theatre concession may not be brought in (popcorn, candy).
